Voyager 3

Voyager 3 was inspired by NASA's trailblazing spirit, blending adventure with a dash of the cosmos right here on Earth. The design details needed to be simple while maintaining some fun. Thick line aesthetics and cutting-edge imagery that wasn’t too flashy. It's my rolling tribute to the curiosity that fuels my daily life. With the right blend of vision and technical savvy, you can take creativity anywhere. This van is more than just my vehicle; it's my statement that the journey is just as important as the destination.

Vehicular Inspiration

Drawing inspiration from the bold stripes and earthy tones of the classic 70s vans, Voyager 3 is my homage to the era's adventurous spirit and its no-holds-barred approach to design. These vans had a blend of contemporary groove and sexiness. A time when vans were not just vehicles but symbols of freedom and self-expression. This project is a salute to the past, reimagined with today's vision, marrying the iconic style of the disco decade with the innovation of the future.

Cosmic Inspiration

The Voyager missions' iconic imagery and the classic NASA "worm" logo inspired the color palette and design elements of Voyager 3. The golds, blacks, and whites reflect the golden record and the spacecraft's body, symbolizing the blend of human ambition and the vast unknown of space. It's about carrying that spirit of the Voyager spacecrafts, which are now beyond our solar system, into every journey I undertake—whether cruising city streets or parking under the stars.

The Process

I wanted to infuse the essence of the Voyager missions into this vehicle. I selected a palette that mirrors their iconic colors and NASA’s precise, engineered aesthetic. Merging the everyday dependability with the scientific precision was critical and this design captures the '70s allure combined with NASA's endless possibilities. Voyager 3 radios the vibe, with its presence sparking smiles, waves, and snapshots, reaffirming the widespread fascination with the cosmos.
